Happy 10 Month Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to the best little man I know!  Benton, every day you amaze us with your strength, resilience, joy, and friendly disposition.  Each day we count our blessings and know that we were put on this earth so that we could be your parents.  Man are we lucky or what!!

Two generations

At 10 months Benton is over 16 lbs and 26 inches long.  He can roll over from tummy to back, reach for toys, sit in his bumbo and high chair, sit up propped on his hands and is loving getting the chance to be pulled up into a standing position.  It's so much fun seeing how proud he is of himself when he stands on our lap and gets to see the world.  It is obvious that his mind thinks he is ready to start walking but his body is a bit behind :)  His favorite toys are his fascination station ferris wheel and his musical star tower and he loves cuddling for nap time.

To celebrate our little guy's 10 month birthday (adjusted 6 month birthday) we decided to check out the National Arboretum and have a picnic.  My dad was in town from Hawaii so we decided to make a day of it.  As we arrived at the Arboretum, Benton got to try out his stroller for the first time as a big boy without his carseat!  It's crazy how much older he looks every day and seeing him in the stroller sans carseat definitely made it seem like he was a big boy!  We enjoyed our picnic in the grass even after Benton decided to spit up all over grandpa after a bit too much bouncing.  Then we took a walk around the arboretum and checked out the Capitol Columns.

It was a gorgeous day, a perfect day for a picnic and a perfect day to celebrate another birthday milestone for Benton!
